Kathe Kollwitz

This image was drawn by the artist, Kathe Kollwitz. Her paintings or drawings depict about human suffering. She was advocating for those that had hardship in their life, including herself. Her work has been banned from Germany’s museum because of what she was trying to display in her pictures. She would fight for women’s rights or working rights.

The art she draws describes her life too when she lost her son at war. The type of art work she does is called “expressionism”. Showing feelings poured into her artwork to represent and display to show the world. She was an activist for social injustice. Her artwork is mostly in black and white (some color) to show “dullness”.
